Port Douglas

If you want to experience the biggest land attraction around the area, then ensure to take the Skyrail Experience to Kuranda. The Kuranda Scenic Railway is a cableway in the rainforest that takes you through some magnificent scenery to the coast. Kuranda makes a fun day out with several attractions and activities such as the many walking tracks like Surprise Creek Walk, McDonald’s Track, Douglas Track, through Barron Gorge National Park. There is a number of art, craft and cultural galleries to explore, along with a variety of excellent restaurants which boast some amazing views.
 
   Back in Port Douglas, there is also a large variety of high quality food and wine to treat your taste buds to.  Award-winning restaurants and cafes can be found along the Macrossan, Wharf and Grant Street dining precincts.

The region is known for numerous events that are held annually and attract many tourists and locals. The Port Douglas Carnivale is a very popular festival comprising of art, music, sports, food, culture and many styles of entertainment.
